CCS100 is a registered nonprofit organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our membership reflects the dynamic and cultural richness of the Chinese Canadian community. The main purpose of CCS100 is to enhance broad participation and representation of the Chinese Canadian community in all Canadian affairs by raising awareness and encouraging all Chinese Canadians to participate in the great Canadian discourse as proud and contributing Canadians. We also inform political parties and other stakeholders on the views and opinions of Chinese Canadians in relation to economic, social, cultural and political matters, as a leading and well recognized voice and conduit in those matters. For example, our efforts in promoting multiculturalism and anti-discrimination activities are highly recognized and were awarded by the BC provincial government. Additionally, Mr. Guo Ding, the founding president of CCS100, is a recent recipient of the King Charles III coronation medal in recognition of his significant contributions to the country, the province, and Chinese Canadian community through his media work and community service. CCS100 and its members stand for equity, respect, integrity and enhancement of Canadian values.
CCS100 welcomes open, unbiased and informed discussions for the good of the country, but rejects unfounded, irresponsible, untruthful and discriminatory attacks or innuendos that serve no useful purpose but lead to divisiveness, McCarthyistic suspicion, and erosion of the fabric of Canadian society. CCS100 will not tolerate libellous, slanderous or defamatory statements on its integrity or reputation, and will not hesitate to resort to legal remedies to protect itself and its members.
We wish to draw attention to a recent ONSC libel lawsuit in which Sam Cooper and Global News were among the defendants. Those defendants were ordered by the court, among other things, to prove their “responsible communications” and provide proof of “truth”. Anyone who ignores truth and the basic ethics and responsibility in media or social media to slander and defame others will eventually be held accountable.
